What LangSmith is
LangSmith is an observability, eval, and debugging platform for LLM applications you build, typically on LangChain or your own traced app. It is excellent at spans, datasets, and shipping quality.
What Taigris is
Taigris is the AI audit trail (proof across Copilot, ChatGPT, Slack AI, JAX, Agentforce, and shadow use) customer-owned. Not an eval harness.
Overlap, and the mistake
Both mention traces and logs. LangSmith traces your app. Taigris records multi-tool AI already in the toolbox. Buying LangSmith does not give exportable proof of Copilot on the matter.
Choose LangSmith when
- You are engineering an agent or RAG app.
- You need evals, datasets, and developer traces.
Choose Taigris when
- Your risk is multi-tool AI use in regulated work.
- You need proof on the row and an exportable trail.
