Why hashes
Reviewers do not need a cryptography lecture. They need exportable proof: the export still matches the sequence across tools that was recorded. Hash and previous-hash make tampering a detectable break, not a silent edit.
What it is not
A hash chain is not a blockchain product story and not a substitute for access control or retention. It is one integrity property of the trail. See the export format for field-level detail.
